Jake Collins, 11, has just been crowned junior champion in his class while younger brother Jamie, eight, has built on his Most Improved Rider ward last season to finish third.

Tanbridge House School pupil Jake had his first introduction to motocross when he participated in a few auto races in 2010 and loved it from the off. The next season was Jake’s first full year of racing, and riding his new Cobra Auto he finished seventh overall in the EKKSC Championship.

The young petrol head then moved clubs to join the Mid Sussex Motocross Club, where in his first year in the juniors he came a very respectable fourth overall in the KTM 65.

And his rapid progress continued into this season as he was crowned junior champion for the 2013 season. Next year he is looking forward to moving up in class into the 85cc.

Following in his brother’s footsteps, Warnham Junior School pupil Jamie participated in his first year of racing in 2012 on his KTM50, where he finished seventh overall in the Auto Class, also collecting the Most Improved Rider award.

Last season, only his second riding, Jamie finished third overall in the Autos class.
