Striking sensation Baker sweeps the board

SIDLEY United striker Peter Baker's amazing 30 goal tally in the Sussex County First Division helped him sweep the board at the club's annual presentation evening.

Baker, who finished top scorer in the league, was voted players' player, supporters' and managers' player of the season.

Ian Smith was the second team player of the season, while Mark Lynch was manager's choice and Steve Morris best young player. Reserve team coach Andy Laskey was given the chairman's award and John Eddell the clubman of the year.

Wayne Farrier and Owen Ball could both miss much of next season as both players are awaiting operations - Farrier for his recurring ligament problems and Ball for a back injury.

Adam Day has recovered from a knee injury.
