No goals - but at least Rocks are committed

THE ROCKS were praised for their commitment to the cause as another battling performance was undone by their lack of goals.

It was an all-too-familiar story as plenty of possession and some neat forward moves came to nothing as Mick Jenkins' men failed to find the killer instinct in the box.

Two Braintree goals in 12 minutes in the second half showed the Rocks how it was done and left them still propping up the division.

Boss Jenkins said: "I'm repeating myself every week, it seems.

"The lads again gave tremendous effort but it's all falling flat in the final third.

"We've identified our problem '“ solving it is a different matter.

"Tom Clarke and Louis Castles worked really well on the flanks and put in some great deliveries, but we didn't take the chances.

"I can't fault the commitment the players have shown since the FA Cup defeat to Burgess Hill."
