On Monday 6th July, families of pre-schoolers had a blast at The Teddy Bears Picnic, Burgess Hill Town Council’s annual dedicated under 5’s event!

There was lots of free fun to be had, with inflatables, soft play and bubblemania kindly funded by Burgess Hill District Lions Club. There was parachute song time led by The King’s Church, and rhyme time with Burgess Hill Library. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service visited the event with one of their fire engines, exciting the children with their lights, sirens and uniforms!
Specsavers Burgess Hill ran a Bluey Colouring competition, Water Babies ran a guess the name of the teddy bear game and WSCC Waste Prevention Team set up a recycling sorting game. Children were invited to create a mini picture to take home, with SandArt, play hook a duck with Windmills Opportunity Playgroup and purchase a book from Gobbledy Books. Crest Swim School, St Edward’s Church, WSCC Early Help Team and Burgess Hill Girls all ran activities too, as did Time4Children and WSCC’s HAF Team.
Cortado Coffee, Stick The Kettle On and Brighton Bouncy Castles all attended with hot drinks and sweet treats to purchase.
A Burgess Hill District Lions representative said: “Burgess Hill District Lions are proud to have sponsored the Burgess Hill Teddy Bears Picnic for the fourth year, this year.
