A highlight of the celebration was a stunning traditional Victoria sponge cake, lovingly baked by High Broom's talented catering team. Knowing it was one of Dotty's favourite treats, the catering team baked a traditional Victoria sponge especially at her request, and she was absolutely delighted with the cake. Every slice was enjoyed alongside smiles, laughter and stories shared among family and friends.

The day was made even more special when Dotty received a congratulatory card from His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla, a treasured honour reserved for those celebrating their 100th birthday. Receiving the Royal card filled her with joy and made an already remarkable day even more meaningful.

Throughout her life, Dotty has believed that kindness, optimism and appreciating life's simple pleasures are the true secrets to happiness. She treasures spending time with family and friends, enjoying good food, meaningful conversation and making every day count.

Her family believe these values have played a significant role in her long and happy life. Remaining socially active, maintaining close family relationships and embracing every opportunity to create happy memories have all contributed to her health, wellbeing and positive outlook.

Dotty and her family enjoyed a wonderful family afternoon tea at High Broom, with a delightful selection of homemade cakes, finger sandwiches and refreshments, all beautifully served on traditional bone china, making the occasion one to be cherished for years to come.

Staff, family and fellow residents joined together to celebrate Dotty’s special day, with plenty of smiles, laughter and birthday wishes shared throughout the afternoon.
