Students at Ark Alexandra Academy enjoyed a day of creativity, discovery and personal development as they took part in the school’s first Drop Down Day of the academic year.

The day provided students with an opportunity to explore new interests, develop practical skills and enjoy a wide range of enriching experiences beyond the usual classroom curriculum. Reflecting the Academy’s vision of “living life in all its fullness” (John 10:10), students were encouraged to challenge themselves, discover new talents and work collaboratively through an exciting programme of activities.
There was something for everyone, with activities ranging from football, netball and frisbee to clay modelling, coding, music, chess and textiles. Students embraced the opportunity to try something different, whether developing their sporting abilities, expressing themselves creatively, exploring technology or putting their strategic thinking to the test.
Throughout the day, enthusiasm and teamwork were evident as students stepped outside their usual routines and engaged in activities designed to inspire, challenge and motivate them.
Drop Down Days are an important opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, build confidence and develop skills that complement their academic learning. The range of activities also highlighted the diverse interests and talents within the Ark Alexandra community.
The successful first Drop Down Day of the year provided a valuable reminder that learning takes many forms, with opportunities to discover new passions and grow in confidence both inside and beyond the classroom.
