Arts Society Horsham funds at workshop at Forest School

One of the aims of the Arts Society Horsham is to support the appreciation of arts in the local community. For a second year, the Society worked with Forest School to fund a visiting artist to work with a group of pupils in an art workshop.

Shana Layzell is a local artist, specialising in fantasy make up and face painting. She led a one day workshop for 20 pupils where she went through the stages of building up a picture through face paints on both faces and arms. She allowed the pupils the freedom to develop their own designs  and styles so by the end of the workshop everyone had produced an amazing piece of work.

The pupils were full of praise for Shana who even face painted some of the teachers and staff who all wanted to be involved.

The Arts Society Horsham is a thriving group focused on the arts in the widest sense. They present monthly lectures every second Wednesday morning at Brighton Road Baptist.

From January, lectures will be at the newly reopened Capitol Theatre. For full details please visit: theartssociety.org/horsham.
