A substantial six-bedroom detached property with potential for sub-division in a village suburb of Crawley was sold at auction this week after competitive bidding.

Aurore at The Mardens, Ifield was among 174 lots listed across southern England in the latest auction held by one of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, Clive Emson Auctioneers.
It exceeded the freehold guide price when it went under the gavel at £447,000 after 38 bids at the firm’s auction which ended on Thursday 5 November.
Senior Auction Appraiser and Auctioneer Richard Payne said: “This one really took off with our bidders competing for an interesting property arranged over two floors as a house with a separate annex, with the potential to sub-divide, subject to obtaining the necessary consents.
“It will be fascinating to see what happens next to this property, which is situated in the village suburb of Ifield, on the outskirts of Crawley, and has double glazing, a gas heating system via radiators, but is in need of refurbishment throughout.”
It sits on a plot extending to 0.04 hectares (0.10 acres) and also includes a driveway, parking for several vehicles, a rear patio garden, garages and outside stores.
Clive Emson Auctioneers holds auctions eight times a year offering specialist advice for auction purposes with offices in Essex, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the West Country, selling with skill, speed and efficiency.
The final auction of 2026 goes live on Tuesday 13 December and concludes on Thursday 15 December. Entries close on 23 November, with the catalogue available online from 26 November.
