Barns Green poppy display bigger and better than ever

Barns Green community poppy display is bigger and better than ever. More than a hundred people knitted, crocheted, sewed and painted over four thousand poppies that would withstand the weather.

The Monday Club, the Crochet Club, Barns Green Primary School, Guides and Brownies all contributed as well as many individuals.

A team then came together for 'The Big Tie On' in Barns Green Social Club, which provided its facilities free of charge for the project.

Finally, the poppies were attached to the Tommy Tree Stump at the edge of the village green as a fitting act of remembrance.

Anyone who is moved by the display is asked to consider donating to the British Legion - collection boxes are available in the Queen's Head and Barns Green Village Stores.
