Early years charity, Home-Start Chichester & District (HSCD) welcomed local dignitaries, funders, council representatives and community partners along with trustees, staff and volunteers for its annual review ‘Together with Families’ on 15th October at The Council House, Chichester.

Local MP Jess Brown-Fuller gave a keynote address reinforcing the importance of community, connection and working together.
HSCD Manager Lois Rowlands and Chair John Nash shared highlights of the wide-ranging support provided to vulnerable families across the district over the past year. They outlined the groups, events and practical help delivered by staff and trained volunteers. Several families also gave moving first-hand accounts of the support they received and the difference it made to their lives.
Lois Rowlands highlighted the importance of connection: “Raising a young family today can feel lonely and isolating, especially when the traditional ‘village’ of support is missing. We help rebuild that network through practical, compassionate support—empowering families and fostering relationships through group activities, volunteer visits, organised trips, events and courses.”
John Nash emphasised the importance of links with others in the area too: “As demand for our services continues to grow, we’ve strengthened partnerships with local schools, health professionals and community organisations to ensure families receive coordinated, timely support. Together, we are helping to build stronger, healthier and more resilient communities across the Chichester District.”
