Burgess Hill Hockey Club is inviting current, former and aspiring goalkeepers to pull on the pads and become part of a growing, ambitious and welcoming club. Whether you're an experienced keeper, someone considering a return to hockey after time away, or completely new to the position, now is the perfect time to get involved and discover one of the most exciting roles in the game.

Goalkeeping is one of the most rewarding roles in hockey. It's a unique position that puts you at the heart of the action, making crucial saves, organising the defence and often being the difference between winning and losing. While the role may seem daunting to some, the club wants to reassure potential volunteers and players that support, coaching and equipment advice are available.

"We know there are people in the local area who used to play in goal years ago and may have thought their hockey days were behind them," said a club chair, Wendy Caddye. "We're also keen to hear from anyone who has never tried goalkeeping before but would like to take on a new sporting challenge. It's a fantastic way to get involved in hockey and become part of a friendly, supportive club."

The club welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Former hockey goalkeepers, players from other sports, parents of junior players, and anyone interested in giving goalkeeping a go are encouraged to get in touch.  The club also has spare goalkeeper kit available, making it easy for anyone curious about the role to come along and give it a try.

Whether you're looking to return to hockey after a break, get active, meet new people, or simply try something different, Burgess Hill Hockey Club would love to hear from you.
