Family Roots (Eastbourne and District Family History Society) are delighted to welcome members and visitors at our next meeting on Thursday 5th November when Helen Warren (Family Roots Chair) will give a talk called “Finding My Foundling”.

Helen will talk about a baby boy who was left in the care of the London Foundling Hospital in 1758. From the humblest of beginnings, this boy, who lived in one of the grandest houses in England, grew up to father a family that now encircles the globe. Come and hear how, through years of family history research, his fascinating story came to light as told by one of his descendants.
The meeting is at Ocklynge School, Victoria Drive, Eastbourne BN20 8XN, entrance in Farlaine Rd. Doors open at 7pm with David’s talk at 7.30pm. Admission to the meeting: members £1, visitors £3.
Family Roots is for all those who want to trace their family tree. The Society is very active, with monthly meetings plus a magazine, and offers a warm and friendly welcome to members and visitors at all our events.
Free help is available to members on all aspects of family history. See www.eastbournefhs.org.uk for more info about how we can help, about joining our group and about future speakers.
