‘The Sixteen’ is a Performing Arts charity, working across the UK to provide an opportunity for people to experience choir music.

The workshop on the 15th was organised through West Sussex Music, to prepare students for a concert being held in Spring 2027 – ‘Sings Live’. This concert will represent 10 primary and secondary schools across the West Sussex locality, with each school being invited to perform 2 songs.

Mr Harrington, Curriculum Leader for Music, commented:“Our school choir includes students from years 7 right the way through to 11, and I am incredibly proud of how hard they continue to work as an ensemble and how professionally they conducted themselves. We meet twice a week at lunchtime and their dedication and enthusiasm is inspiring. For the concert we are learning ‘Let me walk in peace’, by Will Todd, and ‘Tallis Nightsong’. Attempting classical vocal repertoire is a fabulous opportunity to push ourselves out of our comfort zone and we are all looking forward to performing at the Cathedral early next year.

As well as ‘Sings Live’, as a choir we are also busy rehearsing for other events we have coming up including our school carol concert, the switching on of the christmas lights in Felpham village, The Big Sing and even our Spring FCC concert. Busy times ahead for our music department!”
