The ashes of the Past Mayor of Hastings and Speaker of the Cinque Ports June Fabian were finally laid to rest at a special intimate service held on Hastings Pier.

The late (Sylvia) June Fabian affectionately referred to as Auntie June by past Councillors and officers at the time served the period of Mayor from 1991 to 1993 with her recently deceased sister Angela taking on the supporting role of Mayoress.
Royal Voluntary Service Platinum Champion and MLC Funerals Director Lord Brett McLean officiated the special service ably supported by local Magistrate Hugh Alexander JP.https://www.connachttribune.ie/jpim-static/image/2026/09/17/15/45/June-Fabian.jpeg?height=200&fit=contain
Following a brief eulogy and poem especially created for the late June and Angela Fabian, the ashes were scattered from the sea end of the pier.
