Worthing seafront will be filled with festive cheer on Sunday 29 November as West Sussex Mind invites the local community to pull on their elf costumes and take part in its annual Mental Elf Festive Fun Run.
Whether you’re a keen runner, a casual walker or simply looking for a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit, there’s something for everyone, with a choice of 5k and 2k routes. Open to all ages and abilities, participants can walk, jog, run or dance their way along the route at their own pace. Four-legged friends are welcome too, and while elf costumes aren’t compulsory, they’re very much encouraged!
Starting at Splashpoint and along the beautiful Worthing Promenade before returning to Beach House Grounds, the event promises a morning of festive fun, with live music, food, refreshments and Christmas stalls adding to the celebrations.
Last year, an incredible 250 runners and walkers took part, raising an amazing £9,000 for West Sussex Mind. This year, the charity hopes to build on that success and raise even more to support local people experiencing mental health problems.
West Sussex Mind provides vital support for adults, children and young people across the county, helping people access the support they need and reminding them that they don’t have to face a mental health problem alone. In 2025, the charity supported 8,199 people in the local community, and every ticket purchased and every donation made helps it reach even more people who need support.
Every step really does make a difference. By taking part in Mental Elf, participants can enjoy a fun, festive morning with friends and family while helping to raise essential funds for local mental health services.
Tickets start from just £10, with fundraising options and group booking discounts available, making it a great opportunity for families, friends, colleagues and community groups to come together for a worthwhile cause.
So, dig out your stripey tights, dust off your elf hats and get ready to jingle all the way along Worthing seafront!
