Hailsham Town Council is pleased to announce that footballs and football goals are now available for use in the main hall at the James West Community Centre, offering local residents, sports clubs and community groups an additional opportunity to enjoy football in an accessible indoor setting.

The new equipment will help make the centre an attractive venue for five-a-side football and informal kickabouts, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get active, enjoy sport and spend time together in their local community.
Whether an established football club is looking for an indoor training venue, a group of friends wants to organise a casual match, or colleagues are keen to enjoy some friendly competition, the centre welcomes enquiries from anyone interested in booking the main hall for football activities.
Tony Lee, Operations and Facilities Manager at Hailsham Town Council, said: "We are delighted to make football goals available in the main hall at the James West Community Centre. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get together, enjoy football and make use of the facilities available locally."
"Whether you are part of an established club or simply a group of friends looking for somewhere to have a kickabout, we would encourage you to get in touch and explore the booking opportunities available. We hope the equipment will help make the centre an even more welcoming and versatile space for sport and recreation."
Cllr Dave Chapman, Chair of the Assets Management Committee, added: "The introduction of football equipment at the centre is another positive step in making our community facilities more accessible and useful to local people. Sport has an important role to play in supporting physical wellbeing, building friendships and bringing communities together."
"We are particularly pleased to see the centre supporting a range of football opportunities, from informal games to organised sessions that help young people develop their skills and confidence. We hope residents, clubs and community groups will take advantage of what the centre has to offer."
The announcement comes alongside the recent launch of new girls' football sessions at the James West Community Centre, further demonstrating the Town Council's commitment to encouraging participation in sport and expanding opportunities for young people in the local area.
Organised by local footballer and FA Level 2 qualified coach Emma Parrant, in partnership with Kick-Off Coaching, the sessions welcome girls aged 5–11 of all abilities. They take place every Thursday during term time, from 5pm to 6pm, in the centre's main hall on Brunel Drive, providing a supportive environment for girls to develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy football.
With footballs and goals now available, the Council is also encouraging residents, established clubs and informal groups to book the main hall for five-a-side matches and casual kickabouts. Interested groups should contact Hailsham Town Council to discuss availability and booking arrangements.
