St. Francis of Assisi is the subject of a series of talks being held on Mondays in September at St. Anne's Church in Lewes. The talks are in memory of Dr. Pamela Tudor-Craig, art historian and medievalist.

Dr. Tudor-Craig spent many years researching and detailing the lives of the Franciscan monks who lived and worked in Lewes between 1241 and 1538. Thanks to Dr. Tudor-Craig the Franciscans, who began their work in Lewes just fifteen years after the saint's death in 1226, were reburied in St. Anne's churchyard when their original gravesite was disturbed by the redevelopment of the part of Lewes now known as Friars' Walk.

Each talk starts at 7pm and admission is free, with donations to the church and its work gratefully received!
