Reader pictures: The sun and the blood moon

I spend hours photographing the sun and the moon looking for the perfect picture.

I was very excited to capture this piece of a seagull flying through the sun. 

Then a few weeks later I took these the other night over a two-hour period 3am to just after 5am of the first half of the blood moon lunar eclipse cycle.

I’ve taken hundreds of photos of the moon over the past 20 years but never captured such a perfect series as these.

I used two cameras and a lot of patience.
