Abandoned as a child, Kya Clark survives alone amidst the attitudes of 1950s North Carolina. An object of curiosity and scorn, the mysterious and beautiful girl becomes the prime suspect when a local boy is found dead. Where the Crawdads Sing is a thoughtful, evocative, coming-of age drama about loneliness and sexuality in a rich, rural setting where intolerance and prejudice hide in plain view.
