Sussex Housing and Care residents welcomed MP James McCleary to Cheneys Lodge in Seaford today.

The local MP for Lewes spent time speaking with residents about the issues that mattered to them. Speaking about his time at Cheneys Lodge, James said: “Good housing is about so much more than having a roof over your head. It's about independence, community and somewhere you can truly call home.
"That's exactly what I saw when I visited Sussex Housing and Care in Seaford as part of Supported Housing Week! What particularly impressed me was how the scheme brings people together, with facilities including a café and hairdressers, open to the wider public. It was a pleasure to visit Cheneys Lodge and spend time talking with residents about the things that matter to them. Thank you to Sussex Housing & Care, and all the residents of Cheneys Lodge for giving me such a warm welcome."
Tracy Evans, Chief Executive of Sussex Housing & Care said: “Cheneys Lodge is a great example of what sheltered housing is all about; people having their own home and independence in a safe, supportive community, with the reassurance that help is there if they need it. There has always been a great community spirit at Cheneys Lodge and it was lovely to see so many residents come along to meet James, their MP, during Supported Housing Week."
