Before I talk about how I spent my Saturday afternoon, let me share with you the good news that, thanks to the generosity of 32 donors, we now have enough funds to be able to pay for the ramp and very soon it will be installed by Nathan White alongside other work in the museum and around the ground that he also has to perform.

Thanks Nathan, for your support and hard work and for removing one reason for me "falling down" on the job.

We need to keep on fundraising for a while until the first exhibition is installed and the outside of the museum has been given a clean and been branded so people don't think we are the ticket office, but I would like to thank everyone for their support for this project. Long, may it continue.

We are striving to put on the first exhibition in December, hopefully to coincide with the 130th evening scheduled for Wednesday 9th December and the home match with Newport County on the following Saturday 12th December. Plans for the evening on the 9th are progressing with players from Crawley Town teams as far back as the 1950s promising to attend, six of whom will form a players panel to take questions from you, the supporters of the real Red Devils. Keep an eye on the Football Club website for details of this not to be missed event.

Now, what happened Saturday? We picked up our second win of the season away to Oldham Athletic, albeit against ten men for seventy-six minutes and nine for an hour, with Danilo Orsi answering his critics in the best way possible by being in the right place to score after Charlie Barker had hit the woodwork with a thunderous drive from the edge of the box. For once it may have seemed that we got the rub of the green, and all I can say about that is, “about time”.

There was a lot of noise in my flat on Saturday afternoon and to the other residents I can only apologise and assure them that next Sunday it should be quiet as I will be in Wimborne, hopefully watching the Red Devils go three games unbeaten and progress to the 2nd round of the FA Cup.

A long way to go yet as we try and rescue our season, but with the return of Josh Flint and now being 17th in the form table, I really think we won’t have long to wait until we are out of the drop zone. Remember, "it ain't over till the overweight lady sings, so if you see her approaching, please point her in another direction"
