Horsham telecom firm adds 850 broadband users and advances service-control technology

Telecom Acquisitions Limited, based in Horsham, has taken on 850 additional broadband customers after acquiring the final group of users from Origin Broadband. Origin, previously owned by TalkTalk, exited the market earlier this year and had already transferred most subscribers to Utility Warehouse.
The latest intake brings TAL closer to its quarterly target, following the addition of 4,000 customers gained through its purchase of Earth Broadband’s user base. TAL’s chief executive, Nigel Barnett, said the newly acquired customers are mostly connected through Vodafone’s SoGEA network.
Barnett confirmed that the company’s month-to-month sales continue to rise, supported by a new app designed to give users more direct control over their routers and internet performance. Customers can now check speeds, monitor device functionality and view fault information. Parental controls are expected within weeks, with account and payment features to follow.
The update comes after TAL introduced its own Advanced Communications Platform, which Barnett said has cut fault-resolution times by a fifth. The company has also deployed AI tools for out-of-hours credit control and support desk tasks, replacing outbound dialling and reducing manual workloads.
Barnett said TAL plans further acquisitions and anticipates a strong year ahead in 2026.
