One resident, who did not wish to be named, told the Middy they were concerned about suspected covid cases among refuse collector staff who were continuing to work.

In response to the resident’s concerns, Ian Tolley, Serco Mid Sussex contract manager said: “While we understand the natural concern raised by this resident, I can assure the local community that our first priority is the safety of all our employees and we are taking all appropriate measures in line with Government guidelines, including isolation and testing, for anyone who tests Covid positive.

“All our workplaces and activities are risk assessed and are COVID secure and we also carry our regular reviews to ensure the highest standards are maintained.”
