Nestlé job cuts in Gatwick ‘ripping heart from communities’
Hundreds of job cuts across Nestlé UK will ‘rip the heart from communities’, GMB has said.
The food manufacturing giant has announced more than 450 jobs will be slashed across the country.
The majority of jobs – among staff and managers – will go in York and Gatwick, but factories across the UK could be affected.
Nestlé UK make a number of iconic brands, including Kit Kat, Milky Bar, Aero and Felix cat food.
Charlotte Brumpton-Childs, GMB national secretary, said: “These job cuts will rip the heart out of communities.
“Nestlé workers – who make some of the UK’s best loved treats – have already put up with years of uncertainty and job losses.
“GMB will working closely with members and the company to ease the pain of these cuts as much as possible.”
