Opening of The Range is ‘latest good news story for Newhaven’

The mayor of Newhaven and the leader of Lewes District Council have paid a visit to the town’s newest store.

The Range opening on Friday, June 4, welcoming hundreds of socially distanced local shoppers.

Councillor James MacCleary, Leader of Lewes District Council and Councillor Lesley Boniface, Mayor of Newhaven met with new store manager Hannah Sztopel and her team.

Mr MacCleary said: “The opening of The Range is the latest good news story for Newhaven residents, with much more still to come.

“The timing of the opening couldn’t be any better with an end to pandemic restrictions in sight and a summer to look forward to.

“The town has been on an exciting upward curve for some time and this direction of travel is set to continue.

“The new riverside venue at Railway Quay will open very soon, the multi-million pound Future High Streets funding will transform the town centre over the coming years and we will soon discover the outcome of our Town Fund bid.”

Hannah Sztopel, The Range Store Manager, said: “We are pleased to finally be open in Newhaven and are excited to welcome the local residents in-store.

“We have been working closely with the council to bring employment opportunities to the area and will continue to work together in the future.”
