Sussex village pub to reopen as a restaurant

The Smugglers Inn in High Street was closed until further notice due to ‘some unforeseen circumstances’ back in October 2022 and temporarily closed again in January 2023.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 7) the site will reopen as The Smugglers Restaurant.

The restaurant, which is in a Grade II listed building, will serve traditional British food.

The owner said converting the pub into a restaurant was ‘the only way the business could survive’.
