Bognor Regis cafe closes for renovations as owners tease ‘something new’
A Bognor Regis cafe has temporarily closed for renovations, with its owners teasing that “something new” is on the way.
Syrup Cafe, on Station Road, announced earlier this month that it would close from September 14 while work was carried out at the premises.
Images and video captured by the Bognor Regis Observer show the cafe’s interior undergoing major reconstruction.
The cafe gave customers another update on September 15, confirming that renovations were underway but offering few details about the changes.

It has also reassured customers that it is not leaving Bognor Regis.
Hints about the project have been shared on Syrup Cafe’s Facebook page, including references to a new arrival “when the sun goes down”, alongside crescent moon and burger emojis.
The cafe has not yet announced a reopening date.
It remains unclear exactly what changes are being made and whether they will involve a new concept, menu or wider transformation.
Further details are expected to be shared by Syrup Cafe on its Facebook page as the work continues.
