Company applies to build two houses on scrubland in Newhaven in ‘scaled-back’ plan following approval of five homes
A company has applied for planning permission to build two semi-detached houses on scrubland in Newhaven.
PL Projects said the two three-bedroom homes would be on land west of Harbour View Road.

The planning application, which has been submitted to Lewes District Council, is also for six car parking spaces and four cycle spaces, as well as associated soft and hard landscaping.
The planning statement said: “Access is from Harbour View Road in the north-east corner of the site, onto an area currently paved as hardstanding.”
People can view the planning documents at planningpa.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/online-applications using reference LW/26/0472.
The planning statement said a previous application (LW/24/0649) for the redevelopment of an existing dwelling into five homes had been approved in May 2025.
Its conclusion said: “The proposal represents a scaled-back approach following the earlier consent for the demolition and redevelopment of the wider site into five dwellings, and instead seeks to bring forward the two westernmost units independently, while retaining the existing dwelling at Rosemead.”
It said: “With regard to design, the proposed form, massing and material palette have been demonstrated to be consistent with both the previously approved scheme and the character of the surrounding street scene.”
