Crawley man wins £600,000 after surprise call from Stephen Mulhern
A Crawley man was left stunned, after TV presenter Stephen Mulhern called to tell him he had won £600,000.
Savio scooped the cash prize in Global’s Cash Call competition, struggling to find the words as the news sank in.
Mulhern – a presenter and magician – broke the news by saying: “Savio, get ready. Your life is about to change.
"Because right now… in this moment, Savio… you’ve just won £600,000. You’re £600,000 richer! I’m over the moon for you!”
An overwhelmed Savio replied: “Oh my god, I can’t believe it! Thank you! Thank you so much!
"I don’t have any words! I can’t believe it! I’m short of words.”
The competition gives listeners the chance to win cash prizes, with a celebrity calling a winner at 5pm on Fridays.
According to Global, Cash Call has crowned four millionaires since its launch, including Rachel from Surbiton, who won £1.5 million – described by the broadcaster as the biggest cash prize in radio history.
Savio’s £600,000 win adds Crawley to the competition’s roll call of winners.
