Artists’ display helps to raise cash for hospice

Tony Palmer and his wife Renee played host at the event to more than 40 local artists, donating 20 per cent of sales to help raise almost £6,500 for St Leonards charity St Michaels Hospice.

Work on display included pieces from Tracey Brown, John Churchill and Richard Swann to name but a few. Long-term hospice supporter Barbara Valentine also painted portraits throughout the event.

James Cornford, hospice spokesman, said: “St Michael’s Hospice would like to thank the Palmer family, the community of Pett and their village hall for their hard work and generosity, as well as the artists and, of course, Jewsons who so kindly sponsored the art screens for the event. Without them this great event would not be possible.”

This event marked the start of a series of boutique, vintage and arts-based events run by or in aid of St Michael’s Hospice throughout the wider Hastings and Rother area.
