Author’s new book a ‘first’

AN AUTHOR from Worthing claims to have written the first book about tide mills in Sussex.

Alex Vincent, 58, of Shelley Road, spent around 10 months writing his latest book, Tide Mills of Sussex,which includes a reference to an old Mill in Worthing.

He said: “My main passion is archaeology.

“Nobody has written on the Tide Mills of Sussex before so I thought I would write a book about it.

“All the modern photos I took myself and I visited all the places.”

Alex said the book follows the same format as his previous book Windmills of Worthing.

The self-published book, is on sale now at Kim’s Booksop, in Chatsworth Road, Worthing, priced £2.95.
