An energetic sports day, which was held in Dallington School’s hall because of poor weather, was followed by a fundraising coffee morning.

The event raised £476 towards a new outdoor ‘shading area’ for the children, which is to be built by Daisy Chain parent Mark Baker, of Cherry Tree Construction, based in St Leonards.

The children played host to their favourite furry friends at the Dallington nursery’s annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic in July and a few days later, all the children gathered to say a fond farewell to those leaving Daisy Chain Nursery.

This year’s end of term activity saw the children putting on a play for parents and grandparents based on the group’s favourite book, Walking Through the Jungle.

The children sang songs and rhymes about the jungle before the older children sang the Goodbye Song.

Daisy Chain Nursery will open again in September, when it will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a reunion of former pupils. The nursery still has places available for September - call Gill Watterson on 01323 833757 or 07721762306.
