Charters Ancaster in Christmas tree festival

Charters Ancaster pupils will have fun decorating their own special Christmas tree as part of St Michael's Christmas Tree Festival.

The annual event at St Michaels's Church Glassenbury Drive will be held next week and raises funds for the church.

Teacher Sally Thorkildsen says, "The Christmas tree will follow the theme of the festival which is 'Carols' this year. We are dressing our tree in a French style in connection with 'Il est ne la divine enfant".

"We want to combine the Christmas Tree festival with the children's study of French language and culture.

"The children are making decorations for tree in French and art and will sing the carol at their carol service on December 12."

Visit the festival every day from 2pm on Wednesday Dec 3 to 4pm Mon Dec 8 including a special evening opening 7-9pm on Fri Dec 5 and Christmas Praise service at 6pm on Sunday December 7 at St Michael and All Angels Church in Glassenbury Drive.
