Man arrested after Henfield shooting

Police are investigating reports of a police shooting in the Henfield after a man was taken to hospital with a pellet wound.

Police were called shortly after 8pm on Tuesday night (September 10) to reports a man had an air rifle on Henfield High Street.

Officers attended and two men were outside the Hyatt Hair shop and one man said he had been shot by a pellet and other man had a hand injury after a scuffle broke out.

Both men were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.

A 47-year-old man, who was arrested at the time for ABH and GBH, has been bailed until October 14 while investigations continue.
