Police meet with community in Hailsham cafe to discuss ‘issues that matter most’

A Police Community Support Officer in Hailsham has met with members of the local community in a High Street cafe to discuss pressing issues.

A force spokesperson said: “Earlier this week, PCSO Choppin spent some time in Dippy Doodah's cafe, meeting with members of the local community and discussing issues that matter most to them.

“During the visit, conversations focused on hate crime awareness, including what constitutes a hate crime, the importance of reporting incidents, and the support available to victims.

“We also gave advice on how to recognise and protect themselves from common fraud tactics, including phishing emails, telephone scams, rogue traders and online fraud.

“We encouraged everyone to remain vigilant and to look out for friends, family members and neighbours who may be more vulnerable to fraudsters.

“These community visits provide a valuable opportunity for us to listen to local concerns, share crime prevention advice and build positive relationships with those who live and work in our area.”
