“In response, officers have been carrying out additional patrols in and around the area.”

Police said officers would continue speaking with residents, park users and businesses to understand their concerns and provide reassurance.

The force said: “We are committed to keeping Hollingdean Park a safe and welcoming place for everyone and will continue to monitor the area closely.

“Please continue to report any suspicious activity or anti-social behaviour. Your information helps us target our patrols and resources where they are needed most.”
