Selsey residents asked to help police tackle illegal e-bikes and e-scooters

Sussex Police have stated it is gathering information ahead of planned enforcement activity targeting illegal e-bikes and e-scooters in Selsey.

The appeal, shared by Selsey Town Council, asks residents to report sightings to police as officers work to build a clearer picture of those involved and gather evidence that could support future enforcement action.

Residents who see an illegal e-bike or e-scooter are being encouraged to report it by calling 101 and asking for Neighbourhood Policing. Reports can be made anonymously.

Police are asking people to provide as much detail as possible, including the date and time of the sighting, the location, and a description of the rider and the bike or scooter.

A spokesperson for Selsey Town Council said: “Every report helps officers build the evidence they need and identify those involved.

"Don't assume someone else has reported it. The more information police receive, the greater the chance of a successful operation.

“See it. Report it. Help keep Selsey safe”
