Disruption continues on railway

Rail travellers face continued disruption as Network Rail staff work to remove fallen trees from the area’s tracks.

Following last night’s stormy weather, a spokesman for Southern said: “We still have a number of large tree blocking lines on our network, which Network Rail is in the process of removing.

“For the rest of today, we have introduced a temporary timetable.

Gatwick Express services have been reinstated but are running every 30 minutes at present.

London Underground and London Buses are accepting Southern tickets on all reasonable routes.”
