East Preston prepares for festive switch-on

CHRISTMAS spirit will be working its way into East Preston on Thursday (December 1) as the village switches on its festive lights.

There will be plenty to see and do during the switch-on ceremony, which begins at 5pm at the northern shopping parade.

Special guests of honour include quadriplegic East Preston tot, Iona-May Thorne, five, and brave William Moore, two, from Worthing, who has severe dystonic motor disorder.

Ferring Country Centre will also be bringing along miniature ponies and a donkey for the festive fun.

As well as this, there will be a performance by the East Preston Junior School’s choir, on the village green, from 5.30pm and a display by the Angmering handbell ringers at 6pm.

There will be plenty of scrumptious treats for visitors to tuck into, in the village’s southern shopping parade, from Indian and oriental-inspired tasters, to hog roasts and freshly baked mince pies.

The night will finish with a Christmas quiz at the Tudor Tavern, from 7.30pm. For more information, call 01903 770050.
