A road in Rustington was closed on Thursday afternoon (September 17) due to an ‘overturned van’.

Ash Lane was partially blocked following a collision reported at about 1pm.

Buses were forced to divert due to the incident.

A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “Buses will divert via Woodlands Avenue and Albert Road in both directions until the road reopens.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”

An alert on AA Traffic News read: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to rolled over van and recovery work on B2140 Ash Lane both ways from Woodlands Avenue to Broadmark Lane."

Rustington Parish Council said: “Traffic being redirected to Woodlands Avenue from [East Preston] direction, no left turn through Village at main lights. Traffic very heavy please avoid if possible.”

The road has reopened, according to the parish council.
