Worthing promenade lights under investigation as town improvements continue
The council is investigating why some of Worthing’s decorative promenade lighting is not working as part of its latest round of improvement projects.
Worthing Borough Council regularly publishes ‘a snapshot’ of its work online as part of its Pride in Worthing initiative, keeping residents informed about projects across the borough.
The initiative brings together council teams, partners, businesses, community groups and residents to create ‘a cleaner, greener Worthing that reflects the pride people already have in the town’.
In an update shared on Tuesday, November 3, a spokesperson for the council said: “There’ll be a focus this week on finding out why some of the decorative lighting along the promenade is not working, as well as how the problems can be fixed.

“The permanent repairs to the pier will also continue as well as the repairs and cleaning of the gatehouse stonework at Amelia Park.
“Our parks team will be working with the Friends of Denton Gardens to replant the sunken garden at Denton Gardens. Maintenance work is also happening at Field Place, Beach House Park and Palatine Park, along with summer pitch repairs across the borough.
“There’ll also be cleaning work done in the town centre, in particular in the Montague Quarter.”
Residents can find out more about the work planned each week, including events they can take part in, by visiting the Pride in Worthing website.
The website also allows people to report anything in the borough that needs tidying, fixing or improving.
