Among furntiture up for sale is a 20th century leopard print and gold upholstered high back sofa booth, standing over two metres high, which is expected to sell for between £400-£600.

It comes with a certificate of authenticity from Peter Stringfellow himself. Since 1962, Stringfellow has owned gentleman’s clubs in New York, Miami, Beverly Hills, Dublin and Paris, as well as in Soho and Covent Garden, marketing the atmosphere as “exquisite, luxurious, opulent and tantalising”, and the environment as “adult” and “discreet”.

Valuer William Pasfield who catalogued the collection comments that “the style may not be to everyone’s taste, but walking into our re-constructed ‘Angels’ area, you can’t deny that it grabs the eye and raises a smile - it is fun and different to have a collection with such a worldwide reputation preceding it.”
