Having already increased their workforce from 12 to 20 people, the owners are now looking for another five people to join their team.

A statement from the company said: “Ginger’s Kitchen make all their dishes in small batches following traditional recipes. Made with fresh, natural ingredients the range can be found in well-chosen shops and delicatessens that share the same sense of passion for food which Ginger’s Kitchen lives by. Ginger’s Kitchen also offers a great frozen product range called ‘Perfection Frozen’.”

It added: “Growth is yet again around the 45%+ mark; a great achievement from a business that’s only three years old and was born out of the country’s worst recession in living memory.”

The company was started by Dave Cook, together with Sussex based entrepreneur Tim Breden and his wife Hayley. Tim said: “Ginger’s has a simple philosophy of making great food and we don’t change that for anyone.

“In this I mean we haven’t, and won’t, take the supermarket route as this may mean we need to cheapen the product, possibly, to hit a price point.

“We want to be as true to our philosophy and products tomorrow as we are today.”

Their winning products in the Great Taste awards were Sussex Charmer Macaroni Cheese, Free Range Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemons, and Garam Masala Roasted Cauliflower Salad.
