CROSS IN HAND BOWLS CLUB: We open our green for the new season on Saturday April 23 from 11am. If you haven't bowled before please come along to the green and have a go.

HEFFLE CUCKOO FAIR: Tomorrow, Saturday, 11am to 5pm Park and Ride from Market Car Park from 10am. Entrance free. Every penny raised on the day will go to Demelza Hospice Care for Children. Dame Heffle and her procession will leave the Heathfield Community College at 11am and come to Cade St to re-enact the ancient legend and release the cuckoo to welcome spring to Heathfield. Many attractions, stalls, entertainment, food all day. Come and enjoy a great community day and support an excellent charity. Watch out for the scarecrows advertising the event. SUMMER FESTIVAL: Saturday June 11, Broad Oak and Heathfield 2016 Summer Festival and Queen’s Birthday Celebrations at Broad Oak Village Hall and St George’s Church.

QUIZ NIGHT: Our ever-popular Quiz will be held today, Friday, at Punnetts Town Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm. The entry fee is £8 per person, to include supper of fish and chips, chicken and chips or sausage and chips, plus a further option for vegetarians. Places should have been booked by April 12. Proceeds from the quiz will go towards village hall funds. The hall is at the western end of Battle Road, and there is plenty of car parking.
