Simon Pringle, co-founder of Horsham based company, Red River Software, picked up the honour at the 2016 Gatwick Diamond Business Awards.

Kerry McKeown, director with KPMG, who sponsored this coveted category, said: “Simon’s proactive attitude has led to development of not only the business, but also a wealth of activity in the local community.

“It is clear this year that our winner has been laying the foundations for a prosperous few years ahead. Equipping the team and setting them up to be agile, thus increasing the ease to which they can respond to larger projects.

“The judges were also very impressed by the way in which the team are nurtured, giving them responsibility and also incentivising them. Overall Simon is an impressive individual, running a business we expect great things from.”

Over the last 12 months, in addition to it being the most commercially successful year for the business to date, Simon has been spearheading initiatives in the region to promote SME growth, recruit and retain talent; inspire young people by aligning traditional education with contemporary technology career opportunities and creating mentor-led digital and tech programmes and apprenticeships.

He was also offered and accepted a place on the committee of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative last year and has also become involved with TeenTech in the Gatwick Diamond region – the award-winning national events programme co-founded by Maggie Philbin.

Simon said: “This award, while obviously a fantastic recognition for me as an individual, marks the continued hard work of everyone at Red River and all that we have achieved.”
