Icon brings eternal image to Advent
This stunning icon was painted by St Mary’s Church, Battle, parishioner Dorie Orchard.
It was the centre-piece of the annual festival and Advent Carol Service last weekend.
Schools and other community organisations were invited to participate by making and displaying pieces representing one aspect of the Nativity Story. Twenty eight groups took part including Battle Pre-school, who made a delightful rustic setting for the shepherds, and Battle Womens’ Institute. Money raised was donated to various charities.
