The band has been keen to support the area where they grew up - both Tim Rice-Oxley and Tom Chaplin live locally having grown up in Battle.

Their song Sovereign Light Cafe was a loveletter to teenage haunts in both Battle and Bexhill and the accompanying video showed many sights familiar to all in this area.

Their appearance at Music’s Not Dead is a thrill for owners Del Querns and Richard Wortley, and Del said: “Tim Rice-Oxley comes into the shop and has been to a couple of gigs we put on, so we just asked him. We are delighted that Keane are taking time out of their busy schedule to come into our record shop...they don’t need to do it, they could quite easily have chosen to do this in a big London store, so it is great they are supporting their local shop like this. They are just really nice.”

Keane’s gig from Berlin was broadcast live to the De La Warr Pavilion on Wednesday and the band will be playing Battle Memorial Hall on Monday November 18.
