It is the first time the award has been given in the UK. Maxine said: “It’s an amazing feeling to receive recognition for what I have done with my business. It’s by no means been an easy ride but to know that I’ve inspired others to achieve the same makes it all seem worthwhile!”
Maxine was an unemployed single parent when she decided to lose 6.5 stone, qualify as a personal trainer and set up her business in June 2012.
She now runs 17 group sessions and has a studio on Lindfield High Street with an office manager and a lead trainer. Maxine wants to inspire other single parents back into work.
