A matter of principle is at stake over Internal Market Bill

I am very disappointed to see that our MP, Ms Sally-Ann Hart, voted in favour of the Internal Market Bill at the end of September. This bill gives authority to the government to break international law, with regard to the Withdrawal Agreement with the EU - the deal agreed at the end of last year. (The government minister, Mr Brandon Lewis, has confirmed in the House of Commons that the bill empowers the government to act in breach of international law.)

This is a matter of principle. Are we one of the architects of our world, in concert with other leading nations, as one whose word can be relied on? Or are we one of the delinquent nations, one of the cheats and card-sharps of the global community, the object of unwilling courtesies but who can never be taken into the inner circles of decision making? We thought we were in the first group, but now we are moving towards the second. I appeal to all Ms Hart’s constituents to make their feelings known to her on this important matter.
