Sussex needs to be protected

Many of your readers will know that Sussex has been around for a very long time, longer than England in fact.

Saxon Sussex is also rich in history, but from time to time the government attempts to rid us of our counties, for example some years ago there was a plan to merge East Sussex with Kent and part of northern France.

This was a European idea. We also had John Prescott with his plan for regional government at the expense of the counties.

This fortunately was turned down. I’ve always believed that we should have some sort of law to keep Sussex safe from outside interference. What do readers think?
